Our
Mission:
"Go therefore and make disciples
of all
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of
the
Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you;
and lo, I
am with you always, to the close of the age."
Matthew 28:19-20
Who
We Are:
Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd is a
congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, the largest of
several Lutheran denominations in the U. S. Currently the Rev. William
Say serves as pastor at Good Shepherd, having been appointed by the Bishop of
the Central States Synod to serve as Intentional Interim Pastor. Pastor Say’s role is to help the
congregation during the interim while we call a new Pastor to our ministry.
Programming at Good Shepherd includes a diversity of both congregational and
community activities. Among them are adult vocal and handbell choirs,
adult Bible study, Junior and Senior Youth Leagues, a comprehensive Sunday
School, a staffed nursery during the 10:45 a.m. worship service, a co-operative
preschool, Daisy and Brownie Scout Troops, and weekly meetings of both A.A. and
Al-Anon.
Finally, Good Shepherd is a congregation which also supports the varied
ministries of others in our wider community both through the
volunteerism of
our members, and with our gifts. Some of those ministries include
the
Metro. St. Louis Coalition, Lutheran Family and Children's Services,
TEAM and
PAKT, which are food pantry and emergency service providers, Project
COPE (a
ministry with ex-offenders), Lutheran Campus Ministry, etc.
At Good Shepherd there is room for each person to share his or her God
given
gifts and interests. We invite you to come share in ministry with
us.
