“Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet: praise Him with the psaltery and harp. Praise Him with the timbrel and dance: praise Him with stringed instruments and organs. Praise Him upon the loud cymbals: praise Him upon the high sounding cymbals. Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD.” (Psalm 150:3-6 KJV).
Here at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, music is a vibrant part of our life together. The church enjoys a reputation of maintaining a strong music ministry. The different musical groups are directed by competent and creative Christian leaders who are dedicated to growing in Christ, sharing the Word and caring for all. Good Shepherd’s music staff and ensembles enjoy wonderful support and proclaim all the Glory to God!
A non-auditioned, mixed vocal ensemble. The choir is open to all (high school age and up) who wish to offer their voices as pathways of God’s love and care for us, and our response of praise and thanksgiving to God for our salvation through Jesus Christ. The ensemble provides a vital and robust foundation for congregational singing, as well as offering choral music, ranging from the Middle Ages through the 21st Century, that reflects upon and enhances the texts or themes of each worship service. We rehearse on Thursday evenings from 7:00-8:30 PM. This choir is a group that has great fellowship and fun as they serve. The only requirement for involvement in this group is a love of singing and the desire to “make a joyful noise to the Lord.”
… rings praises to our Lord. They add such wonderful, heavenly sounds to our worship, providing the congregation the opportunity to pray and reflect on the love of Christ. Rehearsals are on select Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m.
Instrumentalists – Brass, woodwind and percussion players enhance worship from time to time, either separately or in combination.
